Kurokami The Animation - 8

What happened: Ibuki and Kuro made it to Okinawa, and after settling in with their grandfather, befriended Kakuma and Makana, two Tera Guardians who protect the area's Tera Stone, which keeps the influx of Tera in Okinawa steady. Meanwhile, a large group of Master Roots have come together in attempt to give off the location of the stone. Now, Akane, Ibuki and Kuro, while looking for her brother, must solve the mystery behind Ibuki's mother's death, and see if a relationship between all of the preceding events will help them save everyone.

Thoughts: It's been, what, almost 3 months since my last post? Geez, time goes by fast! Sorry, I'm digressing! Not bad. Having distanced myself from the show, intentionally and unintentionally for a while, I noticed I don't have the same addiction to it as I used to. It's still not too bad of a show, but I'm not itching to find out what's nest. Though I am curious what all the Thousand Excel gave to Ibuki is able to do. Will Ibuki have powers now as well? I guess we'll see.

Who knows when I'll continue? I use Crunchyroll to watch the series, and they have 24 episodes, and since it isn't a Livestream like some of the others, I figure that might be all of them. I wouldn't bee too disappointed. I can see the show ending soon anyway, unfortunately.

*sigh* The ways of a series. It's crazy how feelings can change with time ...

Kurokami The Animation - 7

What happened: Kuro and Ibuki met Yakumo and Miss Ryona, a member of the Shishigami Clan and a Master Root respectively. Also, they fought Lord Hiyo, who turned out not to be Kuro's brother, Lord Shishio is, and Kuro's past as the princess of the Shishigami Clan came to light. Now, they're on the way to Okinawa and Ibuki fully vowed to fight by Kuro's side, more than ever. :3

Thoughts: There's just something about this show. It's not addicting like I'm waiting to see what happens next every time (like Ouran ... don't ask. It's good, I'm serious!). It has to do with the characters, and their bond, that really intrigues me. The bond between a Tera Guardian and Contractee is so interesting, like a couple except with more at steak than their relationship. Plus, with the awesome powers and all that, it's neat to watch their strength and knowledge increase. I can't wait until Ibuki's able to use a Thousand (if my definition's correct)! And I hope he'll be able to become a Master Root, somehow, and defy all odds. That was nice of Ibuki to tell Kuro to let it all out. Good advice. They really are getting closer.

But are they steps towards love?

Kurokami The Animation - 6

What happened: Ibuki learned he was a Sub, whose life drains faster when Synchronized, and he and Kuro fought Mikami and her contractee Shingo at the cost of Shingo's life.

Thoughts: No! I can't believe Ibuki's a Sub! Well, Mikami did say that there was something different about the two of them, because they were able to Synchronize and use an Exceed at the same time. And finally, Ibuki vowed to protect Kuro, which took forever for him to decide! I mean, come on, you can't expect to win when one half of the team doesn't wanna play, right?

But what happens to Mikami now that her contractee, a Sub Contractee at that, is dead? Does she lose her power? Does she find another contractee? It's like becoming a widow and then having to choose a new husband, I guess. I hope she can continue though. I'm sure it's hard. Maybe she'll give Ibuki and Kuro some tips.

I really should be doing summer reading now, like I did this morning, but of course, I can't resist the lure of Kurokami. One more episode, perhaps? And then I'll pick my brother up from work and burrow myself somewhere and continue reading. At least I did some work today. But the assignment is three books, and if I don't keep reading now ...

Kurokami The Animation - 5

What happened: Ibuki and Kuro fought Steiner and Axelle (Exceed: speed-duplication), members of a European Tera Guardian alliance. They showed Ibuki and Kuro a picture of someone that looked like Ibuki's late mother, paired with Kuro's brother, Lord Hiyo. Ibuki and Kuro decided to go to Okinawa to solve the mystery of the picture.

New vocab:

Thousand: A power able to be used by Contractees? Interesting.

My thoughts: Okay, I'm finally getting tired. Certainly is time go to to bed. This show's still getting better, but it's getting harder to think about it, considering that my body's getting sleepier. It would be nice to sleep before 2:00, I'm supposed to take my brother to work before 9. We'll see how that goes.

It's time for me to actually start commenting on stuff instead of saying how great everything is. How can Ibuki cope with so much going on? It makes sense for him to get so angry about all the drama, if that's how he's coping with it. I wonder how Akane is taking all this. So far, it hasn't really concerned her, up until when Steiner said her Tera was a different than a regular human's. I'm sure she's the Root, but maybe even more? Who knows. (Besides the animators and directors and anyone who's read the manga, at whatever point it's at right now.)

Oh, by the way, Kurokami means "Black God," and that's what the manga's called in the US.

BED TIME! Sweet dreams, everyone!

Kurokami The Animation - 4

I'm kinda addicted to this show :)

What happened: Ibuki and Kuro met another Tera Guardian/Contractee pair who've been showing up every once in a while the past few episodes. The pair saved them from a motorcycle-wielding set of Tribal Ends with an Exceed that suspends someone in air, unable to move, and Ibuki got mad, punched the Tera Guardian, and set off a rule that the two pairs must fight.

I'm starting to learn that these "What happened" things I've created don't have to be as detailed as I thought. Just the basic facts. That's good to know, because using that skill in this blog could only help me with my Journalism skills. Finding the news in a situation is probably one of the most important parts about the job. And if I plan on becoming a journalist, it'd be nice to hone that skill as much as possible.

Thoughts: Like I said before, I can't get enough of this show. I haven't stopped watching since episode 1, and it's 1:08 AM. I think I'm gonna have to call it quits for tonight ... after the next episode XD

This show's also reminding me of Zatch! Bell, if anyone's ever seen that. But instead of a person controlling a powered person, there's a human and a Tera Guardian. Pretty close. Almost makes the show even better!

Alright, episode 5 and I'm goin' to bed!

Kurokami The Animation - 3

Okay, for real now, shorter!

What happened: Kuro defeated Ibuki's teacher, who turned out to be a Tribal End (human given knowledge of Doppeliner System, ability to fight) after Synchronizing with Ibuki for the true first time.

Thoughts: It's getting better and better! The animation is still amazing (I bet it's even better with the membership), the characters are still great, and nothing's really started to get boring, unlike some shows where you're excited one episode, and then it's gets cumbersome to watch the next (i.e. Buso Renkin, at least the few episodes I've seen of it).

Oh, I forgot to mention a character: Akane, Ibuki's childhood friend, who tends to help out around Ibuki's apartment. She's in on all this Doppeliner stuff, which is a nice change for an anime. It's nice not to keep secrets. (And Kuro's little dog's name is Punipuni, FYI)

See that wasn't too long, right?

Kurokami The Animation - 2

Second episode down!

I'm really going to try to shorten things up with my posts from now on.

What happened: Ibuki and Kuro's paths crossed again (at his apartment), Ibuki forced Kuro to leave, but he felt bad, so he gave her food, and then some guy with a wind power almost killed Ibuki. Kuro restored Ibuki's life, forcing a weaving of their Tera (their fates), and she brought the guy down.

Vocab (Pending):
- Pact: the bond between a Tera Guardian and a human, shown by a matching symbol on each of their hands.

- Exceed: power each Tera Guardian has

- Synchro: releasing power, able to do more than just melee-style fighting (in a Pact, both need to Synchro to use)

Thoughts: Seems pretty awesome! I really like how unique it is. The whole Doppeliner System and all. Oh, and there's this blue-haired guy that i forgot to mention who seemed to gather a team of master roots (must be the name for a Root who absorbed both Subs' Tera). The powers seem cool, everything seems legitimate, not cheap like some dubbed anime are, and it blends seriousness with comedy nicely.

Episode three up!
